Turning Off Redirect Loop Error In Apache?

I'm crawling a website using php. As I don't know much about turning php into a CGI and runing from command line the method I've chosen is, after one succesful iteration, to redirect back to the same php file so it runs again (it's not an infinite loop as I use both a cookie and a timestamp check to make sure it ends within a set time or after a few hundred iterations).

The problem I keep getting is that after 20 iterations or so I get the following error message:

Redirect Loop

Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.

How can I stop apache/php (I'm using xampp on my localhost) from preventing me from looping as long as i want.

Redirect User To Another Webpage

When a user inputs a "topic" into our form I want to redirect them to another webpage. Everytime a user inputs something into our form, the browser tries to download the script instead of execute it. I am not sure what is going on. Here is the form:

<form action="/cgi-bin/search.php" method="GET" >
<input type="text" name="keyword" size="15" />

Here is search.php:

**misc info
the script perms are 755
AddHandler cgi-script .cgi .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html .cgi

I maybe using the wrong approach.

Default Redirect To Webpage For Authentication?

I'm hunting for a script that would allow me to place a wide-open
wireless access point in my client's business. Then, anyone connecting
and then surfing a webpage would be redirected to a default webpage for
their username/password. Once they log-in, they can surf as normal
until they close their browser. Each new browser session would require
a new cookie/login to surf the web.

Has anyone seen a script that can do this? Or, should I be looking at
some sort of proxy server product?

Redirect The User To Another Webpage With Post Parameters

I have a webpage. This webpage redirect the user to another webpage, more or less the following way:

<form method="post" action="anotherpage.php" id="myform">
<?php foreach($_GET as $key => $value){
echo "<input type='hidden' name='{$key}' value='{$value}' />";
} ?>

what I do is transferring the GET params into POST params. Do not tell me it is bad, I know that myself, and it is not exactly what I really do, what is important is that I collect data from an array and try submitting it to another page via POST. But if the user has JavaScript turned off, it won't work. What I need to know: Is there a way to transfer POST parameters by means of PHP so the redirection can be done the PHP way (header('Location: anotherpage.php');), too?

It is very important for me to pass the params via POST. I cannot use the $_SESSION variable because the webpage is on another domain, thus, the $_SESSION variables differ. Anyway, I simply need a way to transfer POST variables with PHP ^^

Redirect - Frequently Refresh A Specific Webpage?

I need a PHP script running on my server to frequently request a web page. I thought of using the PHP header function combined with a meta refresh tag, but that won't work because the header will redirect to the URL immediately, and the meta refresh will never execute.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to do this please?

Codeigniter - Redirect Error To Error Page Along With Error Thrown

I did some searching for this, but it's a little too generic to pull up results. I'm quite sure it can be done, but I can't find the right posts. Basically I am using code igniter as my back end, and I throw exceptions from EVERYWHERE. When an exception happens, I want to throw the user to an error page BUT I also want to include the error message and stack trace so I can store it into my error table. The worst case scenario would be to put all my code into a try-catch loop, but that's ridicules. Is there anything I can do with something like the .htaccess file? Remember, I need the exception to be passed along with the redirect.

Redirect Loop In Cake?

I've got a CakePHP site that is stuck in a redirect loop. I've removed every piece of code that does a redirect & I've turned off autoRedirect on the Auth object.This occurred when I logged out of the site and has persisted even after deleting all cookies and just trying to load the homepage. The index action is in $this->Auth->allow. I should not, it keeps trying to redirect me to /users/login which then redirect loops. the login action is also in the allowed list.

Redirect Loop Not Sure How To Debug Or Fix

I created a wordpress webpage that I want to protect with a login window. If the user does not have a authenticated session, I want a modal window to popup that asks them to either register or signup. I'm using the fancybox script to do this. The way the modal window works is it is embedded in the <body> tag.

To make the modal window popup you basically use this body tag,

PHP Code:

<body onload='$("a#various3").trigger("click");' > website html code </body> At the very beginning of the page I want protected, I have the following code, it checks to see if the user has logged in already and gained an authenticated session.

Redirect To Custom Joomla Error Code Page When Error Occurs?

I have created the custom error page error.php in /template/MY_TEMPLATE/error.php. This file checks for the error codes and displays different message for each http code I set(I check with $this->error->code == '404'). Normally this works good.

Now the question is, how should I handle same thing when I am using ajax? When I do an ajax call if an error occurs, I would get http status code back, and the response is the error.php file output. When I get error I would like to redirect the user to the error.php (custom error page) with proper error codes, which would display the messages accordingly!

- I am requesting an ajax call to a component with a task (com_greatsuff), which executes some webservice calls to get list of stuff based on itemcode provided. If the itemcode is not found on webservice it woud return 404 Error.(There are many other custom error codes). If it was not an ajax call, it works good as i raise error(JError::raiseError), and displays custom error page. But on ajax call, it will return http status(404) but i need to redirect from javascript with the proper http header.

Drupal And Login Toboggan -- Infinite Redirect Loop?

I'm getting a redirect loop when using Login Toboggan. It doesn't happen all of the time and I think I've narrowed it down to something with the session, specifically the active-tabs[last-active-href] value. Since it's intermittent, I was able to print out a session of a working copy and a non-working copy. Here are both:

WORKS -- Array ( [active-tabs] => Array ( [last-active-href] => index ) ) toboggan/denied

DOESN'T WORK -- Array ( [active-tabs] => Array ( [last-active-href] => user/register [user] => user/register ) [wantsEvents] => [wantsResources] => [wantsSupport] => ) toboggan/denied

I've also noticed that if I comment out the following line the redirection loop stops (although no page loads):

$return = menu_execute_active_handler('user/register');

CakePHP Redirect Loop If View Cache Is Cleared?

I have a not-particularly complex CakePHP (1.3) setup. I've discovered a very puzzling behaviour apparently related to the view cache.

I'm caching two view files that grab a dynamic navigation using requestAction. If I delete one or both of these cache files from the filesystem, the browser hangs for a little while and then spits out an error page:

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

Apache itself doesn't log any errors which is odd because if it had somehow got stuck in an infinite loop like Firefox thinks it does, surely it would show up in the log? If I put the cache files back, Cake displays everything as normal.

What is going on? Has anybody encountered anything like this before?

The request action calls look like this:

$topnav = $this->requestAction('/pages/getDynamicTopMenu');
foreach($topnav as $item):
if($item['Page']['title'] == 'Home') {

Redirect Error Reported As SQL Syntax Error

I just spent way too much time trying to track down an error that was incorrectly reported just now, and I would like to see if someone can explain to me why it was reported that way.

The purpose of the code is simply to delete a record and then redirect back to the page where the delete was started. The code looks like this:

elseif ($_GET[action] == "delete")
$query = "delete from product_subcategory2 where product_sku=$_GET[product_sku] and subcategory2_id=$_GET[subcategory2_id]";
$result = mysql_query($query) or die (mysql_error());
$affected_rows = mysql_affected_rows();

if ($affected_rows == 1)
echo("<center><p class="body">Unable to delete Subcategory2. Please try again.</p>");
echo("<a href="product.php?action=edit&product_sku=$product_sku">Edit Product</a>");

The SQL was find, but the error I had was in the header line. What I had was this:

header("Location:product.php?action=edit&product_sku=<?php echo $product_sku?>");

so since I was already in PHP, I didn't need the "<?php echo" for $product_sku.

.htaccess - Redirect Subdomain To Particular Webpage And Process Subdomain Value

I am familiar with modifying htaccess files but not sure if the following is possible: Ultimately, I want to point users to 'imaginary' subdomains (those which do not exist) so that the subdomain can be parsed correctly with PHP and MySQL to find the particular member's information. For example:

When somebody goes to [URL]... currently, it shows the parent site including information on how to become a member. Once a person is a member, their 'unique' URl is: [URL]... ultimately, forcing the member to remember the question mark agent equals can be confusing along with the need to remember the proper capitalization and such. I would 'like' to achieve the following: [URL]... redirects to [URL]... (and index.php reads the 12345 like a $_GET function to properly lookup the iD, valid and retun response based on that.......

Handling A Fallback Webpage In Case Of Error?

This is my idea for handling a fallback webpage in case of error/exception etc. I am new to PHP so I need to know if it will work AT ALL, or is good practice etc. Any input is welcome. I wrote it up in here so there are likely errors, but the idea will come across and that is what I am needing input on. I need input as to whether it is proper use of the language etc. You just include the file after testing is done on the page you want it applied to. That's it. The constructor/destructor of the global object takes care of everything else. Again, I am new to PHP so this is just an idea.

Specific Webpage Started To Occasionally Result In 500 Internal Error?

I've come across an issue today where a specific page on my site is sometimes causing a 500 internal error. The page normally can take fairly long to load due to some database queries on large datasets, but only today has the apache 500 internal error started to happen. Obviously I will try to optimise the db queries as much as possible to improve page loading speed, but does anyone have an idea why this may have started to happen after having been fine for a couple of months? I'm not aware of any server wide configuration changes. Is it possibly a script execution time issue which needs to be modified in php.ini?

Header Error Using Redirect Scripts

I'm working on a site for a racquetball goods company where sponsored players can sign in each year using a unique player number. Before they can order their equipment for the year, they have to do three things; enter/update their personal information (personal.php), fill out fields in the contract (contract.php), and complete a questionaire on their home club (questionaire.php).

Once that is done, they will get to a menu page where they can order equipment, go back and update personal informa tion, and do other things. They way I'm controlling this is by using three Y/N fields in the player table that indicate whether or not these three steps have been completed. Once each step is completed, the appropriate field is updated, and they go to the next step. When all three steps are complete, they will be taken to the menu page.

This way, they can't get to the menu page until the three steps are complete, and if for some reason they bail between the first and second steps or between the second and third steps, when they log back in, they just pick up where they left off.

After reading through old posts on sessions and using header() to redirect the user to the appropriate page, I decided to use a couple redirect scripts for processing the form. So, for instance, when the user first logs in, redirect.php looks in the database to see which steps have been completed and redirects the user to the appropriate page. Here is the code:
