Anyways, unfortunately my webhost does not allow me to connect to my database from within Dreamweaver (or any remote source for that matter). This causes a problem because I'm used to being pampered by Dreamweaver's user-friendly interface.
However, I'm getting an error when trying to connect. The browser says it's a 500 error (which really isn't that helpful). When I take out the lines $db_username = 'root'; $db_password = 'root'; I get another error saying: "Unable to connect to database: Access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'publications'".
I am currently doing a small script for a company that doesn't have mySql support on there hosting. How would I connect to the database on my hosting account? Currently I am using the following but have tried [URL]....
I am trying to connect to MySQL database at on host (DBhost) from another host (PROGRAMhost).While I try to connect to the database at DBhost from DBhost itself the next is working fine for me: mysql_connect("localhost","qdbname","dbpassword")Now I am trying to find out what to use instead of localhost? I tried to replace localhost with host's url:port (I tried number of ports) but this is not working (even when I am connecting from DBhost itself). How can I find out what is the proper value to use instead of localhost?
I'm (trying) to help a friend setup a MySQL db and use some simple scripts on a site hosted with GoDaddy. I note that GoDaddy appears to use Microsoft. I have done this:
$connection = mysql_connect("localhost","mydatabase","password") or die ("Couldn't connect to server."); $sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM dummy"); $row = mysql_fetch_array($sql); echo $row['name']; ?>
on several Apache servers and it always seems to work. I created the MySQL database using the GoDaddy control panel (which is very confusing and poor IMO). I dove into phpAdmin and was able to do stuff. But I can't get php to connect.
I working on a php socket daemon which works via localhost, but when I try to connect from outside the LAN or another PC, it doesn't work. I've simplified my daemon to a very basic socket connection to replicate the issue for you to see.
Basically, here's the senario. I start the socket daemon on my server on port 6667. I can connect to the daemon via telnet and from the browser on the local machine running the daemon, but I cannot from any other machine - the daemon doesn't even see a connection attempt being made.To further complicate the issue (which is why I think it's a port forwarding issue), my ISP blocks port 80, so I've setup dyndns and my router to use port 8000. I've also setup my router to forward port 6667 to my server.To access my daemon from a browser, I enter the following (seudo) url:
This works from the local machine and will connect, but from any other machine, the daemon doesn't even see a connection attempt being made. However, if I specify the port like this:
my daemon does see a connection being made, but of course then the browser doesn't have a client page loaded that the user can use to interact with the daemon.My client uses a flash file to create the socket connection (jsocket), but I know it isn't the cross-domain policy file because the policy is correct, and when connecting via localhost, it serves the policy file correctly.
Here's the simplified daemon code:
<? // set some variables $host = '0.0.0.0'; [code]....
Summary:I CAN connect from localhost via telnet and browser... I CAN connect from other machines via telnet, but I CAN NOT connection from the browser from other machines using the ip or domain name when port 8000 is specified. The daemon doesn't see any connection attempt. If I specify port 6667, then the daemon see's a connection attempt, but that is useless to the user. :
my cassandra is working well in CLI. and thrift also installed well. i already started apache server and cassandara..but when trying to execute php file that is not executed on browser.it shows the error as:TException: Error: TSocket: Could not connect to localhost:9160 (Permission denied )
and the 12th and 13th line is: $socket = new TSocket('localhost', 9160); $transport = new TBufferedTransport($socket, 1024, 1024);
i gave 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost.even it is not working
mysql_connect cannot connect localhost but 127.0.0.1.
It shows:Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not (trying to connect via tcp://localhost:3306) in ........And driversetchosts seems good.
I've been working on a joomla site on my local windoes vista computer using WAMPSERVER vrs2 and with apache.Something went wrong with apache and windows warned me and turned it off. Since then I can't use http://localhost (or the shortcut on the wampserver menu 'localhost' to connect. However I CAN connect using http://127.1.1.1 and this is the workaround I've been using for a week now. Anyone know how i can get my 'localhost' working back to normal?
I was not able to connect to the localhost server.I'm using easyphp 2.0.When I was executing the code it was showing the error like the following,Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'myusername'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in G:EasyPHP 2.0b1wwwphp_signcreate.php on line 6Could not connect to mysql because Access denied for user 'myusername'@'localhost' (using password: YES).Even if I change the server and password,it was showing the above error.
how can i connect an android app (on my phone) to a php server (EasyPHP) that i am running on my machine (localhost). Are there any tutorials out there that document this. I need to test the app on an actual phone not an emulator (because the emulator contains bugs for certain activities).
I'm running some virtual machines using VMware workstation on my PC (using win 7), also I'm using a basic WAMP installation. I'm trying to connect to my Win7 Apache server from any of the VMs. I tried changing the following line on my httpd.conf file:
<Directory "c:/wamp/www/"> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride all Order Deny,Allow Allow from all ## Was Deny from all Allow from 127.0.0.1 </Directory>
This way if I go into my VM browser and type "http://my-ip/Project" I can open the project but I can't see the images or css styles, I think I'm missing some permissions somewhere, also I don't think allowing from all is the most secure way of doing this.
ábut the message I get is:Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'user'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in C:Program Files (x86)Apache Software oundationApache2.2htdocsappSourceincludesdb_connect.php on lne 3Warning: mysql_select_db() [function.mysql-select-db]: Access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in C:Program Files (x86)Apache Software oundationApache2.2htdocsappSourceincludesdb_connect.php on line 4
I'm trying to install MySQL on my server, I go to mysql.com, download the windows version (zip file). Then I click on Setup.exe and it seems to install mysql in the c:/mysql directory, lastly I go to the DOS prompt and navigate to C:>mysql>bin>mysql which should start the service, but I get an error stating I cannot connect to MySQL server on localhost?
I've set up an ejabberd install locally on my Windows box, where I also have Apache, PHP and MySQL. I've also confirmed that it works great using Digsby, and have kicked the tires a bit by creating some users, sending some messages, etc. All good. However, PHP can't open a stream using stream_socket_client to port 5222. Even at its simplest level:
i was coding a database script in php which uses mysql as backend, am not a newbie to either mysql or php, its been fun for years for me, but during my coding 5 mins before i just got
Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)
I was not connected to internet so no chance of virus or so, niether any chance of configuration change issue by someone, how can this happen at once? i restarted machine but still the same. I am on a windows server.
How do i make my error message unique. i.eFailed to connect to server: Access denied for user 'username'@'localhost' (using password: YES)instead of displaying the username and using password yes. i want to customize it with something like "you are not allowed in here
Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in C:xampphtdocswahab_gl egister.php on line 65
i am getting the above error on running the following code.. i am using the local host at the moment
I have tried very briefly to use this feature to see if it can make my coding go faster, but I have found it to be a pain in the butt. In CS3, they now have an AJAX framework that may come in handy, but again is it worth it to let Dreamweaver do the coding for you? I am just so used to coding everything myself even though it is slow going sometimes.
im having a problem with searching a database in dreamweaver and was wondering if anyone here has tried it? its a mysql database. here is the situation. i have DB called real_db with a table in i call listings. i want to be able to search the db and display results on a page... so far its not working... it shows me everything BUT the results i want.
<?php require_once('auth.php'); ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> [Code]....
I have been trying to build a simple gallery with Dreamweaver and a database. I am able to show larger image, from thumbs. I used a database, recordset, repeat regions. But I do not know how to show categories.I am ready to provide you with any info you need...What I need to do is to be able click on gallery thumbs to go to image thumbs in that gallery category and then go to the larger version.
I'm not sure I quite understand how this works, because no matter what I do I get an error when it tries to send an email.The only code I have is this:
$to = 'email@example.com'; $subject = 'the subject'; $message = 'hello';[code]...
That came straight from the php manual. Now I must be missing something because this error occurs:
Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\profile.php on line 13
So I check my php.ini: [mail function] ; For Win32 only.[code]....
What more is needed? Does the mail function actually work this way? The firstname.lastname@example.org is just some random yahoo account I've had for years, does the email address need to somehow be affiliated with my server? If so, how?And I'm not even sure about the smtp_port = 25 part. Do I have to manually set the smtp_port on my computer to use 25? If so, how do you do that? I know next to nothing about that kind of stuff.
I'm just really confused as to how this function actually works and I'd love to get it working for a Forgot Password page I'd like to implement.Not sure if it's relevant, but my OS is Windows.
i have developed a php script for an contact from ....i tested in Xampp and in my script i have an confirmaion message,when i click summit it direct me to confirmation page...but also display the foolowing ...
Name:$name Email:$email Message:$message EOD; $success = mail($emailSubject,$webMaster,$body,"From: $SendFrom"); /*Results */ $theresults = << your query is processed successfuly
echo "$theresults"; ?>
BUT I NEED TO SEE ONLY "your query is processed successfuly" when i clicked the send button....when i tested my php script in xampp it showed a waring
Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in D:\xampp\htdocs\a.php on line 23
your query is processed successfuly
but i think warning is not a problem like any other programming language...i am including my script in it
