I'm building a PHP app that allows a user to upload an ad and preview it on specific pages of a specific website. Right now, I'm doing it by taking screenshots of the webpage, removing the ads, and placing my own s.What would be the best way to get the contents of a URL and replace code that appears between a certain on that page?
I'd like to grab the load time of an external PHP document. That is, to have a script load the page contents as if it were just another user behind a browser and return in seconds how long that took. Right now I can determine that the server is up and get a ping-like response time, but that isn't much use to me. I don't know where to start, or the difficulty of what I'm asking.
I have "page a" and "page b" On "page a" is a form which gets submitted to "page b".The php code on "page b" then sends the submitted data to an external site using CURL.Based on the data received, the external site sends a fax. Now, the problem is, there is a really long pause after the user clicks submit as all this takes place(like 4 or 5 minutes). At the moment, I have a css message that pops up informing the user that a fax is being sent. But, it's still 5 minutes until the user reaches "page b".The user doesn't need to know anything about the success/failure of the fax being sent.go straight to "page b" without this long wait.want this CURL thing to hold the user up.
now when running the below php code i'm getting an error: "XML Parsing Error: junk after document element Warning: DOMDocument::load() [domdocument.load0]: I/O warning : failed to load external entity "" in line 5".
I have no idea why the error is thrown. please help/
I have a database, that stores items and a link to an image for every item. Now the images can't be storen localy (there wouldn't be anough space and other reasons as well), so I link to images on other servers.
When I wan't to display the items (with it's image), I run while statement with mysql_fetch_array like this (simplified):
But the image load takes forever, because some of the external images have large sizes, however I only need it 200px wide. Is there a way to smaller the image 'on the go', or something to speed the loading up?
How can I import a variable from an external file? What I want to do is to have a configuration file in which I can write all my website settings and then to import these settings to every file, so I can set the website skin and things like that..
how one would load large xml files, from an external url, and display the contents in the quickest fashion.. Right now I'm loading using "simplexml_load_file" and it takes about 12 seconds to load the file, which is far too long. I did copy the file locally and it loads super fast.. Maybe there's a way to read that external xml file and save it locally and then I could just read that one.
I'm creating a site for a university where we have to include the university's main navigation at the top of the page. Rather than re-create their navigation, I want to load it dynamically.First I thought I could use an iframe and just trim it to the navigation. However, when a link is clicked it opens in that frame, when i want it in a new window. So, my new plan is to pull in the nav with curl (or another way if someone has a suggestion..). Whats the best way to go about this? Fairly new at curl so I'd love some code.
i am call a web service which is locate on https protocol.and i get "failed to load external entity" error while calling it. as i search on google it is because in PHP5, SOAP class will not parse WSDL file located on a secure HTTPS connection. what is the solution? i don't want to use http instead of https.
I was given this the URL for a Web Service. And I need to consume the methods from that service, connecting through Hamachi with it. Anyways, the thing is that, when I use the StrikeIron Analyzer, I can recover the Web Service and see the methods there. On PHP, I create my object...
$soapClient = new SoapClient("http:188.8.131.52:13080/sc62server/PWS/AnswersWM.wsdl", array("soap_version"=>SOAP_1_2
I get an error...
Fatal error: SOAP-ERROR: Parsing WSDL: Couldn't load from 'http:184.108.40.206:13080/sc62server/PWS/AnswersWM.wsdl' : failed to load external entity "http:220.127.116.11:13080/sc62server/PWS/AnswersWM.wsdl" in C:\xampp\htdocs\ITSTK\Modules\Client\index.php
I am having problem on how to load the html <select> with values whenever the page is first loaded or when refreshed. I am actually trying to create a date_select with 3 dropdown menus which includes year, month, and days in which the month-menu or year-menu is changed it will automatically adjust the number of days. For example, when I selected the month March the days will be 31 or April the days will be 30 only. Anyway, my problem is when the page is first loaded the day-menu is empty. I tried onload on the select but didn't work. I am a beginner in programming so I am having trouble even simple exercises like this.
btw the link for my site is [URL]
and the problem occurs when you vote for a post thats what I was referring to
This is the error I am getting on IE8 Message: Permission denied Line: 20 Char: 25383 Code: 0 for file jquery-1.3.1.min.js
I have a profile page where im showing the friends of that user from db, I'm using auto scroller that works fine if I place that data directly in main file not an external file, Also I have a drop dowwn that on selection will sort the friends records accordingly, but as i have moved the code to main file, i need to make ajax call to same file not an external, to repopulate data with required sorting. Please let me know how can i do this on same file with ajax. On selection of drop down value.
how to make this work. I am guessing I can store this as a cookie or something (I am completely unfamiliar with cookies or session tracking).
Basically, when someone visits a page, I want to load a certain DIV element (like a "Welcome to..."). But if they visit the page again later, I don't want the div to load. Even better, if they visit the page, say a couple weeks later, make the DIV element load again.
The code shown below works without problem however it's not doing what I want it to do.When I click on the links it stays on the home page, there are values in the database, I want it to load up the page, at id=1 etc.
PHP Code:<?php $connect = require_once('connections/config.php'); //Connect to mysql server
I'm fairly new to memcache so apologies if this is an obvious one. I have looked through the memcached documentation and tried various Google searches but to no avail. The setup :
Drupal 6.19 Memcache API and integration module Authcache module Centos 5 Memcached 1.2.6
If you need further information let me know. The situation: Memcache is certainly running, bins are being filled and page load times are incredible. However, I noticed only recently, when doing some testing that when I clicked on a link before the page had finished loading memcache stores the current page state in memory. So, when the next user comes along he sees a half formed page that I was too impatient to wait for.
Your response might be to sort out my page loading - which I'm looking in to. But I would like to solve this one as well. This means that if a user with a particularly slow connection is the first one to visit a page then he / she might click away and store an incomplete page for everyone else to see.
I have created a html page in php and upon submission i validates that page using PHP. After validating i want to show an alert msg to show its status like showing any greeting or request for re-enter.
