Invalid Use

Jul 6, 2007

Can anyone tell me why this isn't working?

SELECT DISTINCT (stat_listing)
FROM listing_stat
ORDER BY COUNT(stat_listing) DESC;

I have a table with the same values in one table (stat_listing) & I want to return distinct tables sorted by the value that appears the most. I hope you understand what I mean.

curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $uri);
$contents = curl_exec ($ch);
$xml = new SimpleXMLElement($contents);
echo $xml->asXML()."<br>";

in this code the last echo: echo $xml->asXML(); gives me an error: Quote: Invalid cmdThe cmd parameter (stninfo) is missing or invalid. Please correct the error and try again.

Invalid Address: E-mail:Invalid Address: E-mail:Could Not Execute: /usr/sbin/sendmail

I'm currently writing an ajax form with jquery. The form is handled with a PHP script then the information is sent via the PHPMailer lite class. [URL]

This is the PHP code:

if ($mail->Send())
echo '{"message":"Mensaje enviado con éxito","status":"ok"}';
echo '{"message":"Ocurió un error al envíar el mensaje, intentelo más tarde.","status":"fail"}';

I discovered this problem when the email submitted by the user is not a valid one, resulting in the following error:

Invalid address: E-mail:Invalid address: E-mail:Could not execute: /usr/sbin/sendmail

I should test the email. Ok. But the problem is that the previous error message "gets in the way" and corrupts the response. So I can solve the email error, but any other warning/error would corrupt the response.

Invalid Query

I want to create a MySQL table from PHP.

This table is never created. Do you know why? Are there any limitations at making tables from PHP?

Why Session Key Is Invalid

First I use this url to get the JSON result.....on the browser:
ttp://localhost:8888/myApplication/service/user_data.php?action=loadData& works, and great, but I would like to get the JSON on this page, so I use this method the get the JSON....$dataInJSON = file_get_contents('http://localhost:8888/myApplication/service/user_data.php?action=loadData&'); echo $dataInJSON; but when I echo the dataInJSON, it should me that the error code, that indicated the session key is invalid. So, I try to print the SESSION.....When I print the link in the browser using this method..... error_log(isset($_SESSION[$aEmail]));it show me "1", which tell me the $_SESSION[$aEmail] is set, but when I use the second method, I found that it paste nothing..... when they have so different behavior?

Processing Invalid XML?

I'm using SimpleXML to load in some xml files (which I didn't write/provide and can't really change the format of).Occasionally (eg one or two files out of every 50 or so) they don't escape any special characters (mostly &, but sometimes other random invalid things too). This creates and issue because SimpleXML with php just fails, and I don't really know of any good way to handle parsing invalid XML.

My first idea was to preprocess the XML as a string and put ALL fields in as CDATA so it would work, but for some ungodly reason the XML I need to process puts all of its data in the attribute fields. Thus I can't use the CDATA idea. An example of the XML being:

<Author v="By Someone & Someone" />

Whats the best way to process this to replace all the invalid characters from the XML before I load it in with SimpleXML?

Another Invalid Result Resource

Sorry to ask a debugging question, but I've been fooling with this thing all day, and I can't see what the problem is. $query is passed from search form:

$result = mysql_query("select id, date, title, text, reviewer, email, score, cover, url, url_title, hits, type, creator, release, upc, quote from one7_reviews where title LIKE '%$query%' OR description LIKE '%$query%' OR creator LIKE '%$query%' OR url_title LIKE '%$query%' ORDER BY title ASC");

$num = mysql_num_rows($result);

I keep getting "Supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource "

Bad Request + Invalid Characters

I have a problem with ordering system I've made with PHP.

When user wants to remove items from shopping cart he/she choose the following link:

<a href=remove.php?confirm=yes&name=$name&item_id=$item_id>Yes</a>

One user claimed that he gets the error message below when using NN 6.2. For me everything works fine both with NN 6.2 and IE.

" Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
The request line contained invalid characters following the protocol string."

What could cause this error message? Is there someting wrong with the variables in URL? What are the limitations when sending variables in URL?

Where I could find more information about the issue?

PHP/mysql Invalid Character

We are experiencing a problem with displaying text stored in a mysql database. At the end of most of the sentences being out put is a capital E with a carot above it.

(an E with an ^ on top pretty much)

When I look at the database from mysql control center it looks fine, but in vi the character shows up as a?.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before. We are a bit stumped on this issue and any help would be appreciated.

Passing Invalid Variables.

let's say a user enters an url like "page.php?id=" or "page.php?id=XRY$%@%#", the url is invalid right? cos there's no id stated there or the id is invalid.

what would happen if i don't do error checking? does the database connection stays on and wastes server memory space? could some hacker clog up the server's memory with multiple error requests?
