Invalid Address: E-mail:Invalid Address: E-mail:Could Not Execute: /usr/sbin/sendmail

May 6, 2011

I'm currently writing an ajax form with jquery. The form is handled with a PHP script then the information is sent via the PHPMailer lite class. [URL]

This is the PHP code:

if ($mail->Send())
echo '{"message":"Mensaje enviado con éxito","status":"ok"}';
echo '{"message":"Ocurió un error al envíar el mensaje, intentelo más tarde.","status":"fail"}';

I discovered this problem when the email submitted by the user is not a valid one, resulting in the following error:

Invalid address: E-mail:Invalid address: E-mail:Could not execute: /usr/sbin/sendmail

I should test the email. Ok. But the problem is that the previous error message "gets in the way" and corrupts the response. So I can solve the email error, but any other warning/error would corrupt the response.

Why Session Key Is Invalid

May 12, 2011

First I use this url to get the JSON result.....on the browser:
ttp://localhost:8888/myApplication/service/user_data.php?action=loadData& works, and great, but I would like to get the JSON on this page, so I use this method the get the JSON....$dataInJSON = file_get_contents('http://localhost:8888/myApplication/service/user_data.php?action=loadData&'); echo $dataInJSON; but when I echo the dataInJSON, it should me that the error code, that indicated the session key is invalid. So, I try to print the SESSION.....When I print the link in the browser using this method..... error_log(isset($_SESSION[$aEmail]));it show me "1", which tell me the $_SESSION[$aEmail] is set, but when I use the second method, I found that it paste nothing..... when they have so different behavior?

Processing Invalid XML?

May 22, 2010

I'm using SimpleXML to load in some xml files (which I didn't write/provide and can't really change the format of).Occasionally (eg one or two files out of every 50 or so) they don't escape any special characters (mostly &, but sometimes other random invalid things too). This creates and issue because SimpleXML with php just fails, and I don't really know of any good way to handle parsing invalid XML.

My first idea was to preprocess the XML as a string and put ALL fields in as CDATA so it would work, but for some ungodly reason the XML I need to process puts all of its data in the attribute fields. Thus I can't use the CDATA idea. An example of the XML being:

<Author v="By Someone & Someone" />

Whats the best way to process this to replace all the invalid characters from the XML before I load it in with SimpleXML?

Bad Request + Invalid Characters

I have a problem with ordering system I've made with PHP.

<a href=remove.php?confirm=yes&name=$name&item_id=$item_id>Yes</a>

One user claimed that he gets the error message below when using NN 6.2. For me everything works fine both with NN 6.2 and IE.

" Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

What could cause this error message? Is there someting wrong with the variables in URL? What are the limitations when sending variables in URL?

Invalid Argument Warning

Feb 26, 2006

I'm getting a Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() error message for this bit of code:

foreach($_POST['healthConditions[]'] as $key=>$value) {
            if($count > 1){
                    $_SESSION['saFormData'] .= " $value, ";
            } else {
                    $_SESSION['saFormData'] .= " $value.<br>";
            }  }

I've done some research that said that this warning either means you've got a string instead of an array or that the array is null. Mine is obviously an array because its data that's being passed from a form via post.

However, the warning goes away if a user has checked any of the healthConditions boxes so I guess it's because the array can be returned as NULL if they don't check any. I tried putting

$_POST['healthConditions'] = array("");

and even

$_POST['healthConditions'] = array("anything");

The way the form is worded, the user needs to have the option of leaving all checkboxes blank.

After Upload Pictures Are Invalid?

Jun 14, 2011

I got a problem with a web upload. It is as follows:

I upload a picture and I look for the type (allowed jpeg, jpg, gif and png). Now I cut a part out of it and save it on a temporary resource which is created by the information of the type (if the type is jpg or jpeg, I use imagejpeg(), with PNG i use imagepng() and with gif I use imagegif()). Now this works. Then I save the images again.

And then I re-open them by imagecreatefromjpeg/-png/-gif. And then I get the error

Warning: imagecreatefromgif() [function.imagecreatefromgif]: 'uploads/gif/test.gif' is not a valid GIF file in /home/blabla/sliceit.php on line 88

Line 88 looks as follows:

$org_img = 'uploads/' . $name . "/" . $rand . (substr($type,0,1) != "." ? "." . $type : $type);

87: elseif ($type == ".gif") {
88: $src_img = imagecreatefromgif($org_img);
89: }

The same error happens also with png, but not with jpeg (because I wrote the following statement at the beginning:

ini_set('gd.jpeg_ignore_warning', 1);

). Jpeg warnings seem to be deactivated, but not the warnings for png and gif. And I created the image with mspaint, so they actually have to be valid.

EDIT: some code:

$name = 'something';
$filetype = substr($_FILES['datei']['name'],-4,4);
$filetype = strtolower($filetype);
$randomsessid = randomstring(60);

So now I got the file saved and the information in my table.

Now I'm linking to another file...

$id = mysql_real_escape_string($_GET["randid"]); //here I get the randomstring
if ($id == "") {
$unf = mysql_query("SELECT NAME, TYP FROM SESSIONS WHERE RANDOM = '" . $id . "'");
if (mysql_num_rows($unf) == 1) {

Returning No Or Invalid Geo Addresses?

A typical address string I pass to my function is this:
$adr = 'vre Slottsgate 11, 0157, Oslo, Norway';
All addresses er encoded using htmlentities:
htmlentities($value, ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8');
After encoding the URL, it becomes:

What could be wrong with my encoding? Doesn't Geocode v3 use same encoding as v2?
