Trying To Install PhpMyAdmin

I installed the file from When I attempt to
access phpMyAdmin I get an error page the routes me to
http://localhost/phpMyAdmin/Documentation.html#faqmysql. So, from this,
I'm concluding that I need the php_mysql.dll extension. In an effort to
be totally current, I'm trying to use the MySQL Improved Extension.

Investigating this extension, I read the following from

"In order to have these functions available, you must compile PHP with
support for the mysqli extension."

How do I go about this? I don't have a compiler. I do have the .dll
currently in C:phpext.

Phpmyadmin Install On Windows

I installed everything and everything appears to be connecting but a few issues are apparent with phpmyadmin. First off it doesn't seem like it is using the themes as the site is totally missing all of its formatting. Second I can't create a table, add a row or anything. The error I am getting is ' tbl_replace.php: Missing parameter: goto (FAQ 2.8) '. Which contains a link to this page. I tried all those suggestions that were relevant and saw no change.

Install PhpMyAdmin Maintaining Older Version?

I'm running on php 5.2.6 on my development server and need to install phpMyAdmin. However, when I install phpMyAdmin, it updates my php to 5.3.x and that causes my website to break... Been looking online but haven't found anything that will install phpMyAdmin but leave alone the php version.

Anyone know how to install phpMyAdmin without upgrading php automatically? Leave php version alone, just install the phpMyAdmin on Linux Fedora 14.

Joomla Plugin Install Xml -- Install File To Different Folder?

Is it possible to install a file from a Joomla plugin to a non-plugin directory?

For example-- by default a Joomla plugin install xml looks like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<install version="1.5" type="plugin" group="mycomponent" method="upgrade">

This will install the myplugin.php file to the /plugins/mycomponent plugins folder.However, if I want to install some image files to make my plugin look nicer, and want to drop those in the /images folder, is there a way to supply that path?

Beyond PHPMyAdmin

I am looking for PHP suite similar to PHPMyAdmin that lets me manage a
database from a web server. However what I want to be able to do is
create custom forms for data entry rather than the automatically
generated forms that PHPMyAdmin makes.

Do you know of any such php-based solutions?
