Using Foreach To Create Grid?

Jul 1, 2009

I am creating a grid in GD and was wondering if this is the right way to do it.

I have 2 arrays. One contains all X values, the other contains all Y values.

foreach ($xpointsArray as $xvalue) {
foreach ($ypointsArray as $yvalue) {
// Draw point at coordinates $xvalue, $yvalue
}
}

I just think there must be a more elegant way to set this up, and I would like to further access the points values without doing this every time.

Magento Set Grid To Filter Automatically By Current Day Using Existing Datetime Column In Grid?

Mar 24, 2010

In Magento I'm creating a custom module and would love to be able to filter automatically by the datetime column so that the intial grid listing shows only entities related to "todays" date.

Here is my datetime column:

$this->addColumn('ts', array(
'header' => $hlp->__('Activated'),
'align' => 'left',
'index' => 'ts',
'type' => 'datetime',
'width' => '160px',
));

I'm think there should be a way for me to just add a filter to the collection like so:

$now = Mage::getModel('core/date')->timestamp(time());
$dateTime = date('m/d/y h:i:s', $now);
$collection = Mage::getModel('mymodule/items')->getCollection()
->addFieldToFilter('ts', $dateTime);

But this doesn't work?

Am I using the wrong filter? My "ts" field in the database is a "datetime" field, but the default magento "From: " - "To:" date range selectors don't use hours, minutes, seconds.

Variables - Adding To Grid Selection For Grid.php File?

Jul 13, 2011

I asked a similar question but I did not provide sufficient details and I got no answers so I will try again.

The main task is to add fields to the CSV file that is exported under the magento admin sales->invoices. I found the main file to edit:

app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Sales/Invoice/Grid.php

This has the options to addColumn's like so:

$this->addColumn('increment_id', array(
'header' => Mage::helper('sales')->__('Invoice #'),
'index' => 'increment_id',
'type' => 'text',
));

Now when I try to add new Column's I change the index to the appropriate database field, lets say 'tax amount' for example. The only problem is that this new value is not in my Magento collection, so it simply populates an empty column in the table.

I am quite new to Magento so I don't fully understand how the Magento collection works or how I can access it for the scope of grid.php.

Finding Out Grid Co-ords From A Central Grid Space?

Aug 6, 2010

I am looking to build a small adventure game in PHP and the key to this will be a 3x3 (or possibly bigger) grids of squares, with the user situated in the centre. I therefore need to be able to figure out the co-ords of the surrounding squares. Presumably I will need to define the size of the master grid, then using the co-ords of the current square (defined from a database containing the users location), calculate the co-ords for the surrounding 8 grid squares.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Where should I start? (Maths isn't my strong point tbh, but I can pick things up quickly) EDIT - in case it wasn't too clear, the "world map" would be something like 1000x1000 squares, but the player can only see the 3x3 grid at there location.

Code To Create Alternating Grid View Of Nodes On Homepage?

Feb 6, 2011

im trying to create a grid view of all nodes on the homepage that iterates through 3 different template patterns so I can have different imagecache presets for each node passed into the view. I use page-front.tpl.php for the home design and currently have a template preprocess pointing to node-front.tpl.php. Im imagining that the only way to really accomplish this is in a template preprocess?So Im hoping the code will give me the ability to assign different imagecache presets to each of the 3 alternating nodes in the pattern, like:

for node "1", display template pattern "1" with imagecache preset "big-image".
for node "2", display template pattern "2" with imagecache preset "tall-image".
for node "3", display template pattern "3" with imagecache preset "small-image".

ExtJS 4 Grid Row Editing?

can anyone please point to a working example or provide a piece of code regarding row editing and how to submit the edited data to the server? I've implemented the add and delete records functionality in my grid, but I just can't get edit to work. In ExtJS3, I used to implement a button for editing, so the user clicked on a row and then on the button and a form with all the data from that record was loaded, providing the ability to edit the data and then save it. Since, for reasons unknown to me, I cannot get this to work in ExtJS4 (getSelection() and selModel.selected.items won't load the record into my form), I am forced to use inline editing.I've been working for days now on this one without success. I understand that I need to implement an afteredit listener but can someone be so kind to show me a way how to pass the data from the editor to a PHP script so that I may manipulate the database from there?

Ajax Grid Field Grouping?

Dec 23, 2009

I research modern Ajax Grids capable of grouping rows by fields (into collapsible sections), in a manner similar to ExtJs Grid grouping. Important requirements to such a grid is not only grouping, but sorting by multiple fields, e.g. by country and gender. Ideally user needs to be able to select fields to group by (sort by) dynamically. I don't expect grids to do it, but knowing that given Ajax grid at least allows to build such a feature would be good. Such a grid exists in ASP.Net world - [URL] - see it allows dynamic grouping by dragging required columns to upper bar. But as PHP developer I am not sure such thing exists as pure js-lib or as some PHP library. What are other grids, except ExtJs grid, that support flexible/nested/dynamic field grouping, for using it in PHP?

Get New Product Attribute In Grid Display?

Apr 7, 2010

I added a new attribute to my products(a boolean "yes/no" field). It is a variable to enable/disable the price from displaying on the product detail page, and grid view.

I managed to get it work on the product info page. But on product grid page I cant seem to access that variable. Specifically, the template i am working with is catalog/product/price.phtml. From what i can tell, the price is being displayed by the same group of if-statements on both the product detail page, and grid page. This has me confused because i cant find any code on that template to handle multiple products, just a bunch of nested if statements.

this is how im attempting to access this new variable using $_displayPrice. on line 36 of catalog/product/price.html

<?php $_product = $this->getProduct(); ?>
<?php $_id = $_product->getId() ?>
<?php $_displayPrice = $_product->getDisplayPrice() ? "Yes" : "No";
echo $_displayPrice;?>

What has me further confused is that when display $_product->getData(), my new variable isn't anywhere among that data.

Display MySQL Data In A Grid?

I'm trying to build a games site for a friend. Currently, the front-end (HTML/CSS) of the site is done. Now, I want to make a way for him to easily add games to the site. Ideally, I'd like to make a database with the following columns: ID, Name, Category, Link, Thumbnail_Link. Then, using PHP, I'd like to call the first x number (not sure what it will be yet, let's say 50) and format it as a grid in the following way: There's the thumbnail image followed by the game name, and they're all a clickable link to the game URL. Is this possible? How would I go about doing this? I've already set up a database for a login module to the site, so each page has already opened a connection to the MySQL database. SQLite Databases And Grid Hosting?

May 21, 2010

I'm considering moving my site from a GoDaddy shared hosting account to a Media Temple grid hosting account in anticipation of traffic. However, I first have some concerns with the grid hosting setup.My site stores a large personal set of data on a per-user basis (possibly 3-4MB per user). At this rate I was worried about blowing over a 1GB MySQL limit in no time. To deal with this I created distributed SQLite databases per user to store large data objects. It's worked wonderfully so far. SQLite is super fast and simple.I know that reading from and writing to files is different in a Grid Hosting environment. I need to know if this setup is going to cause serious problems. These databases are not (and will not be) highly trafficked. They are personal to the user and will only be touched maybe two locations at the same time (one updating the data hourly at the most, and one or more reading on demand)

Creating A Very Large Grid With While Loop?

Jul 29, 2010

I've been trying to figure out a way to create a very large (1000x1000) grid. With each cell being 5x5, so 200 rows and 200 cols.

Here is the way I've been doing it:
<?
$col=1;
while($col<=200){
echo("<ulstyle="width:1000px;height:5px;border:0px;margin:0px;padding:0px;">");
$row=1;
while($row<=200){

[Code]...

It work's, however, as you can imagine it is incredibly slow loading. And browsers such as IE usually end up crashing, even on high end, fast processing PC's, let alone what might happen on an average house hold computer.

I've been wondering if there is a more effective method of creating the grid that I am unaware of, I will also be implementing hover boxes (overLib) over each 5x5 cell, which will display dynamic information from a database. And the background color will also be taken from the database and not be decided by the php rand(); like it currently is. So I'm thinking once I start adding more to it, it's going to run even slower than what it is now. I know this is a PHP forum, but if PHP isn't the best answer would anyone think Javascript could make it run smoother? Or is it going to be impossible to create it fast and efficiently no matter what I use?
