Add Column To Magento Admin Catolog > Manage Products?
I want to add a column to the catolg > manage products section (not the product but the list of products), this column needs to list any related products the product has identified with it - maybe by sku or name - no preferance there.I added a column for manufacturer but forgot where i obtained the code from.
I am designing an admin module in Magento 1.4.2. I am developing a grid layout displaying the product details (product name, SKU, price, special price, qty) I displayed all the columns. I cannot figure out how to display the special price in one column. I cannot retrieve the special price.
I have developed an admin for a site and would like to track users and what products they put into the database through the admin. Any ideas on how this can be done? The users have separate logins I just want to match up the products to the user who entered it. Is it something to do with sessions? Any guides or tutorials available?
I tried to make a order with a product with an inventory of 1. When the order is completed, the stock is 0. It's ok. However, the Stock Availability is set to "In stock". And the option Qty for Item's Status to become Out of Stock is set to 0 too. I don't understand. here is the config:
I have been trying to figure out the best way to start working on building Magento extensions for release. I would like to be able to have individual svn repos for each extension. It seems like there is some difficulty trying to figure out the best way to develop these in a way that makes things easy in terms of version control. Obviously you want to work on the extension, inside of a Magento application, but you wouldn't want to have worry about ignoring all the files except the ones that are for the extension.
I thought about using svn:externals but I don't think that is the answer since you need to have certain files mixed into other directories and its not really standalone. From what I read with externals it doesn't seem like this is a good choice.
So I am just looking to see what others do to setup their extension development environment, maybe just ignoring all other files is the way to go. We also thought about sym linking but that would mean writing a script that would do this for all developers and I am not sure that this would be that great either since people may setup their projects different.
I have many sites that use the same root category of the Main Site. Each product that is added is added to the site it was added to (wow.) and also the Main Site. However, I would like categories on a per site basis to only appear if there are products on that site.
If I have:
Category1 Category2 Category3
But Site1 only has products in Category1 and Category2, whereas Site2 and Site3 have products in Category2 and Category3; I only want Category1/2 to appear on Site1 and only Category2/3 to only appear on Site2 and Site3.
However, because all products in Site1/2/3 are also added to the Main Site; the Main Site would list Category1/2/3.
No products are added directly to the Main Site. It simply serves as a repository for the other sites.
Now, if there is no really easy way to enable this (as I'm sure), would it be as simple as writing my own theme that lists categories that only have products on the site that the template is being displayed on?
I am not a novice in the technologies that Magento uses; so writing custom code is no problem. I would, however, not like to edit it that much so that upgrading my code base would be easier in the future with later versions of Magento.
I'm developing a website for a quite a big company, which is used to sell certain products online. Would Magento Community Edition be a bad approach for developing a big ecommerence website or is it better to develop a ecommerence platform from scratch using a mvc framework.I would just like to know other people personal opinion because i feel its safer to build a project from scratch. They say that Magento from my experience does not scale very well and feel i might run into problems in the future.
I was able to stop script incursions into his server via the file_manager.php file by eliminating it and removing the necessary line of code from admin/includes/boxes/tools.php. However, now he would like to be able to upload photos and add new items to his store. I know that it is not best practice, but as he can't pay for services and needs a quick solution, uploading the file_manager.php file again and re-adding the necessary line of code to admin/includes/boxes/tools.php. However, after doing this, he still can't upload images. The error given is a rather unhelpful "No files were uploaded" message.
I wondered if it isn't a permissions issue with the file_manager.php file, but after (temporarily) giving the file a 777 permission and seeing that it still doesn't work, I'm at a loss.
I would like to do a site in PHP/MySQL using either Drupal/Joomla/Wordpress that allows me to have class list with description/date and students can sign up to pay for it. I prefer Wordpress if there is some package already. The idea is to have students to pay via Paypal. For backend, Admin should be able to manage class, check students status. The reason I want to do this is because I have a small company and I want to do special workshop once in awhile.
I have Magento site running with 20000 plus products. Sometimes it does not show the products in the frontend. It says "There are no products matching the selection", but the products are still there in the backend site. I know I have to run re-indexing process, and whenever I complete the re-indexing process all products are there in the frontend.
In my block code I am trying to programatically retrieve a list of products that have a attribute with a specific value. Alternately if that is not possible how would one retrieve all products then filter them to just list the products with a specific attribute?
In my magento store I am trying to retrieve a list of youtube videos from a DB table, some videos are duplicated.
I'm looking to filter videos by using distinct video "value" but can't seam to find any information about using distinct with addFieldToFilter()
// get video collection $collection = Mage::getModel('video/video')->getCollection(); $collection->addFieldToFilter('provider', 'youtube'); // filter by video value $collection->addFieldToFilter('value')->distinct(true);
By removing $collection->addFieldToFilter('value')->distinct(true); it works, but retrieves all the videos.
After upgrading from 1.4 to 1.5 the quick search returns all products. The advanced search works just fine. I've cleared the cache and re-indexed everything but still nothing.?The search also doesn't apply the minimum query length set in the admin (ie, I can enter nothing and still be shown everything). Switching between LIKE or FULLTEXT search seems to do nothing.
I've seen this Magento Search returns All Products but all my plugins are up to date (and I don't have any search plugins).
For some reason when using quick search for some products they don't show in the results. The products do exist and are on stock, enabled etc and can be found on the store from navigating through the catolg, and yes the attribute is set to be searchable be 'catlog, search' I've reindexed data, and cleaered the cache. I've even tried disabling the cache. But still can't get it to work, anyone got any more ideas? I've searched on the forums and other people expreicning same problem, but can't see any decent solutions - or that works for me.
After import the products into magento which appears to go smoothly no errors; the products aren't visible in the store.however if i go to any product and save(even without changing anything)it it is instantly available. Why are these products not visible right away.Running the latest stable build.
