[error]Undefined Offset,Use Of Undefined Constant

Aug 12, 2003

I have written a program for a long. However, when I placed it in other server, there are many error messages formed. For example:

Notice: Use of undefined constant my_sort - assumed 'my_sort' on line 4
function my_sort( $row1, $row2 ) {
return ( intval($row1[1]) > intval($row2[1]) )?-1:1; }
usort( $str, my_sort);}

I can't find out what's the mistake did I make. Would you know what's wrong in above scripting?

Error - Undefined Index And Undefined Offset

my current code:

Code: [Select]$Townsearch = $_REQUEST['rsTown'];
list($Town, $County) = split('[,]', $Townsearch);
ltrim($County,1);

I am getting undefined index and undefined offset, so I tried this:

Code: [Select]if $_REQUEST['rsTown'] == ''{
$Townsearch = '';
} else {
$Townsearch = $_REQUEST['rsTown'];
}

but this brought back: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE, expecting '(' in D: etroandvintage.co.ukwwwrootmain.php on line 6

Error - Undefined Offset: 2 In C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php On Line 473

Added at line 473:

if (isset($this->_termsFreqs[$termId][$docId])) {
}

This happens only when I'm searching for multiple words, e.g.:

+word1 +word2 + word3

I get this massive error:

Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 4 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 4 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 6 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 6 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 9 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473
Notice: Undefined offset: 9 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473

result set that is returned is correct, so in production I could just turn off the error reporting and it would work like a charm but I don't want to do that. I have also tried using UTF-8 compatible text analyzer (even though I have only Latin 1 characters in the index):

Zend_Search_Lucene_Analysis_Analyzer::setDefault(new Zend_Search_Lucene_Analysis_Analyzer_Common_Utf8());

Getting A "Use Of Undefined Constant" Error That Can't Figure Out?

I'm getting the following strange looking error. Unexpected PHP error [Use of undefined constant s - assumed 's'] severity [E_NOTICE] in [C:Documents and SettingsyepthatsmeMy DocumentsDev

icnamesmain
esourcesincludes
ame.inc.php line 180]

The line it is referring to has:

$types = nicnames_config::$resourcetypes;

nicnames_config::$resourcetypes is an array. I have no idea where this 's' it talks about is coming from, and I'm beginning to think it may be a PHP bug, though perhaps I have missed something. Where should I look? I am using SimpleTest to do testing, and this error is occurring during a particular test.

In case you're interested, here is that line in context:

function getstrings()
// returns array of strings suitable for human-readable rendering of this
// piece of informtion. Contains such fields as 'title', 'subtitle',
// 'pre-qualifier', 'post-qualifier', 'comment', etc
{
$types = nicnames_config::$resourcetypes; // line 180.............

Undefined Offset

I am collecting data within a form. The select option is generated by a php/mysql loop:
("<option>" . $row['provId'] .":".$row['provname'] ."</option>" )

I am trying to split this data with my php process file:

list($provId,$provname) = explode(':',$_POST['provider']);

This won't work in IE and returns a $provId value of &#390;' every time along with the notice:
"Undefined offset: 1".

Undefined Constant Value

You used to be able to get to the value part of an array element using $array[value]
with no problems etc. My ISP has moved to PHP4 now, & I get warnings like:

Has this changed in PHP4? How do I turn off the warnings?
