[error]Undefined Offset,Use Of Undefined Constant

Aug 12, 2003

I have written a program for a long. However, when I placed it in other server, there are many error messages formed. For example:

Notice: Use of undefined constant my_sort - assumed 'my_sort' on line 4
function my_sort( $row1, $row2 ) {
return ( intval($row1[1]) > intval($row2[1]) )?-1:1; }
usort( $str, my_sort);}

I can't find out what's the mistake did I make. Would you know what's wrong in above scripting?

} else {
$Townsearch = $_REQUEST['rsTown'];
}

but this brought back: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE, expecting '(' in D: etroandvintage.co.ukwwwrootmain.php on line 6

Error - Undefined Offset: 2 In C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php On Line 473

This happens only when I'm searching for multiple words, e.g.:

I get this massive error:

Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in C:wampwwwprojectlibraryendSearchLuceneSearchQueryMultiTerm.php on line 473

result set that is returned is correct, so in production I could just turn off the error reporting and it would work like a charm but I don't want to do that. I have also tried using UTF-8 compatible text analyzer (even though I have only Latin 1 characters in the index):

Zend_Search_Lucene_Analysis_Analyzer::setDefault(new Zend_Search_Lucene_Analysis_Analyzer_Common_Utf8());

Getting A "Use Of Undefined Constant" Error That Can't Figure Out?

The line it is referring to has:

nicnames_config::$resourcetypes is an array. I have no idea where this 's' it talks about is coming from, and I'm beginning to think it may be a PHP bug, though perhaps I have missed something. Where should I look? I am using SimpleTest to do testing, and this error is occurring during a particular test.

Undefined Offset Notice With Explode

Jul 17, 2005

I'm having a problem with PHP which I'm not sure how to best solve.
Here is the code:

$fp = fopen("comments.txt", "r");
while(!feof($fp))
{
$line = fgets($fp, 1024);
list($key, $value) = explode(":", $line, 2);

if ($key == "something")
{
...etc...etc...

The problem here is that if the line doesn't contain a : then there
isn't anything to populate $key and $value and so PHP reports "PHP
Notice: Undefined offset: 1". When I used to work with Perl, it
wouldn't report and rely on me handling the issue later if needs be.

What is the best way to get the explode line to not report a PHP notice
when it comes across a $line that isn't in the correct format?
